Platform upgrade issues -> 8.7.0.1

Hi Guys,

I'm upgrading my project to 8.7.0.1, but I'm having troubles with the new "feature" that admin bin files are auto copied.

We use NLog in our projects and have them installed by nuget.
These are versions 3.1.0.0 and 4.0.

Usually when doing a platform update we copy everything from the admin/bin except the NLog files.
But now that doesn't work anymore ...

We tried putting 3.1.0.0 dlls in the dw core but that caused a continues loop.
I really don't want to downgrade our projects to NLog 2.0.0 ...
Is there a way for mee to keep using 3.1.0.0 / 4.0 in my projects whithout DW f-ing it up !?!?!

Hi Peter

It is not a new feature - but a fixed feature.

After you access /Admin and bin has been updated, you should be able to just override the nlog.dll file with version 4. DW does not have a strong reference. DW only copies if Dynamicweb.dll is not in sync.

Strange thing is, I can attach every DW 8.* version I have on my PC, except DW 8.7.0.1 when upgrading the way I'm used to.
Front-end works, Backend starts to replace dll's.
indecision
Just to be sure, I take these steps:

  1. Stop appool
  2. Attach 8.7.0.1/Admin as virtual dir
  3. Copy all files, except nlog files, from 8.7.0.1/bin to project/bin
  4. Start appool
  5. Build and run

Hi Peter

I can verify the issue - it is a bug. We are now rolling back to how it once worked, which was simple and efficient.

We will have a bug fix ready in the next release of 8.7 (also merged to 8.6.1).

Sorry for the inconvenience, Nicolai

He Nicolai, any idea when we can expect this next release?
I was waiting for some PartsList functionalities which I hope did end up in the 8.7.0.1, but can't use it as is ...
I kinda need it soon ...

I see you didn't manage to release yesterday.
Will you be able to release today?
