Course plan for a new DW developer

I hope this thread is okay to post here, even though it's not specifically about DW.

I am hired in as a freelance frontend developer with a DW partner. Their senior developer has recently resigned, and they have a newly educated developer on staff. To help the new guy get up to speed quickly, I am taking on sort of a mentoring role untill he can be self-sufficient.

The CEO has asked me to recommend courses, which will directly strenthen his skills as a DW developer, and has sent me a list of courses to pick from. Since my work with DW has been primarilly on the frontend, I am not completelly sure where the backend is going, and what would be nescesarry to learn now and in the future.

For the time being, I have proposed the courses in centering around general C# and .NET, since the developer is new to the framework (he is trained in PHP).

Does anyone else have any suggestions about courses that would be ideal for a developer working with Dynamicweb?

Hi Nikki

That is ok!

I would take "MTA 40372: .NET Fundamentals". Do not take any of the webforms courses - webforms are being phased out and you usually do not need them in DW.

The MVC course would be another option - but overkille for this.

And then of course it would be a good idea to take the DW courses: http://engage.dynamicweb.com/training-certification - The T1, T2 and T3 are relevant

Thanks a bunch, Nicolai! I will relay your advice.

He will of course take the DW certifications as well.
