Password security settings

Hi Guys,

I am trying to use the settings for Password strength and validity available in the User Management Module.

However, I could not find any relevant information about how to implement those settings (and the associated validations) in front-end templates.

I have seen that the default login functionality already has some validations attached to it but I am trying to use it for Password change or for User Creation.

Hi Adrian,

If do you mean Password security feature then you should follow the notice defined by http://manual.dynamicweb-cms.com/Dynamicweb-On-line-Manual/Management-Center/Control-Panel/Modules/User-Management.aspx, there is separate section in the settings handles frontend security. (8.6.1)

Hello Oleg,

I already done that. My questions are related to implementation in the templates.

I have used a standard Edit Profile template together with the Extranet module but the user can out anything in the password field. It is not validated in any way.

No error messages are returned and I could not find any documentation in the manual/templates nor in the API.

Can you help me with that?

I've just tested 8.6.1.11 with last FF/Chrome using standard (user_create.html & edit_profile.html) templates provided via http://developer.dynamicweb.com/Admin/Public/DWSDownload.aspx?File=Files%2fFiler%2fDownloads%2fDefaultEmptyData%2fDW8%2fDefaultEmptyData8Access.zip and have good results. See proof attached, please.

It looks like our templates are not ok.

I will update them and give it another shot.

Hello Oleg,

It looks that our problem is not with Create User but rather with change password.

This is where we have an issue.
