Using the UserProvider with Integration Framework for B2B and B2C users

Hi DW,

I can see some improvements for the UserProvider in 8.7 (http://developer.dynamicweb.com/releases/dynamicweb-8-7.aspx#16884), but when having both B2B- and B2C-customers in the same solution running the NAV Integration Framework I am missing an option in the destination settings where I can select the desired group for importing the users.Because the B2B-users a imported from NAV and the B2C-users are created in the frontend and should not be overridden when importing the B2B-users.

This can be done when not using "auto mapping", but I think that this would be a great option when using the auto mapping functionality. But will this also be possible in 8.7?

Best regards, Anders

Hi Anders,

That is not currently the plan.

In a B2B scenario, import is almost always done based on data generated from the ERP/remote system. In that scenario, it should be trivial for the developer working on the remote system to add the column "EcomGroups", with either the group name or group id of the group that the users should be added to - if this is done, it should work with automatic mapping as well.

Hi Jonas,

I agree, but this has to be done for every shop running an integrated B2B and B2C-solution and should be enough reason to make it standard i Dynamicweb instead of needing this implementation each time, which maybe cost the client 2 hours from the ERP-developer and 1 hour of testing.

Best regards, Anders

Fair enough - I'll add it as a feature request - I think we'll be able to get it into 8.7, since it's a small change. No promises yet, though :-)
