Do not desctruct data in item based tables

Hi there,

When working in team scenarios, we sometimes run into issues where the definition of item types differs from what's in the database. This could also be an issue where someone accidentally deploys an old XML definition to a production server. The default behavior of Dynamicweb is to delete columns from the item's table that no longer have a matching field in the item definition. Would it be possible to not delete those columns but to simply ignore them? Then there could be an option in the Management Center to sync the item types and database definitions, that could raise a warning when data is destroyed.

Hi Imar

Leaving data in the database is probably not a good option, but a warning and option when we remove stuff would be appropiate - maybe not update items automatically at all, but simply display that changes are present and they should be accepted (showing the differences).
