301 redirect module for deleted content

When content is deleted we'd like that the system ask the editor if she wants to create a 301 redirect to another element of same kind that is deleted.

If this could on:

  • Pages
  • Products
  • News
  • Items

as a start then good ranking content can be substituted and not just gone forever.

Hi Kevin

Good idea. We could do it for pages (and hence item based pages), but not the other content type because of missing context.

We have a task of "Replacement product" that would redirect to another product when sold out/deleted.
