I want a file list field type.
Right now you have to create a "file item", enable it for Item lists. And then use that item type in an item list.
Would be useful for galleries and such to have this field type.

There is a folder item type. It gives you a list of files in that folder...
What you need?
Nicolai
A folder would use all the images in that folder. For me, it makes little difference, but when setting up items for the customer, ease of use and flexibility is important. This would make it easy and flexible.
It could be useful for text fields as well, for creating a keyword/tag lists for example.
You need to use more words - I do not understand what you want...
You can make lists of any type of items. The entire idea is you define what that item type would be. But you want a static file list item type or how should it be understood?
Images.
I can declare a folder and take all the images in that folder... Not user friendly. Not flexible. Can result in the same image in many folders if the use the same image in different galleries.
If I want to let them select X number of images, but not bind them to a folder. I can make an item list. This item list then contains an item which is nothing more than an item with one single field, a file field. This works. But it is ... not friendly to me.
I'm a lazy person, I want easy.
So I want to be able to create a new field type on my items, a file list... where I can select multiple files, from multiple directories.
And then you want a description to the files in your list - then what?
