Hi,

 

Based on http://developer.dynamicweb.com/forum/development/ecom-product-list-custom-group.aspx I would like to know if there are already plans for this feature. Basically extend the Variant visibility options to have "Group by" and select a variant group.

 

Example application:

  • Shoe shop - list product by shoe color, but now shoe size

It is in the backlog.

We have problems implementing it currently. But it is not forgotten.

Hi Jakob

Using the new index, there is now a new boolean field: "Variant group name - first variant in group". See dump for an example where I have colors and sizes as variant groups.

That field will be true the first time that variant option (color) is present for each variant combination of that product

So given a product in 2 colors (black and Blue) and 4 sizes (s, m, l, xl), 8 records in total, that field will be true for the first black and the first blue instance. So you can setup your search with this field set to true, and it will return one black and one blue, giving you a list grouped by color.
