Incorrect links from search engines

Hi there,

I am seeing a lot of 404 errors in the logs for a Dynamicweb site. They look similar to this:

/solutions/manufacturing/Default.aspx

The first part exists, but the inclusion of Default.aspx breaks the page. I searched the code and nowhere do I see a reference to Default.aspx relative to the current page. I do see references to /Default.aspx in the root for the search form.

Has anyone ran into this? How did you deal with it? It's not a big deal as it seems to be from search spiders only (Bing) but it clutters up the error log, making it harder to spot real 404s.

Thanks,

Imar

Hi Imar,

In your sitemap.xml (www.domain.com/sitemap.xml) do you have any reference to the Default.aspx pages?

Best regards,

António Ramos

Hi António,

No, none of the links in the sitemap have default.aspx in their link.

Thanks,

Imar
