Welcome E-mail with unique voucher code

Hi people

Is it possible to setup the marketing module in such a way, that when a costumer has signed up to the newsletter, they immediately recieve a "Welcome to the club" e-mail, containing a unique voucher for use on the site.

I realize that you can manually move "new costumers" into a group and the send them all an e-mail with a unique voucher, but our client would like this to be done automatically.

Any tips or pointers?

Well that would do the trick to some extend. What we were hoping for, was to be able so send the email immediately. What we are hoping to make is a splash saying forexample: "sign-up now and get 200,- for your first purchase". That will not work if the vouchers is not sent immediately.

I will talk to our client about the options at hand.

Could the above be considered a Feature request? I think it makes good sense in a business case, also "Alle the other shops have it" :-)

Hi again

If the system was setup to scan for new email recipents, say every 5 minutes, how would that effect the system if you have a total of 6.000 recipients.

Hi again

As an option or seperate feature request:
When you sign up to the newsletter, the discount voucher code shows immediately on the screen, together with the "Thanks for signing up" message.
