Website layer specific 404 page

Hi Dynamicweb,

I think it would be great to be able to have language/website layer specific 404-pages in the system.

I know it is possible with a work around (http://developer.dynamicweb.com/forum/development/building-a-working-404-system-for-websites-without-primary-domain.aspx), but I will prefer to have it standard in the system.

Best regards, Anders

Hi Anders

You can also do it using primary domain and the 404 setting on the website.

But we have to tie it to the domain level. Otherwise which 404 to show would be a guestimate since we really do not know what /whatever should have meant. It makes no sense - since it does not exist, so there is not real way to find out what it should have been.

It might be better with a 404 matrix based on accept language, domain and maybe a customizable regex pattern so you can control it your self.

Hi Nicolai,

Yes, it it right with the primary domain, but the current website has this structure:

  1. www.domain.com/da-dk/
  2. www.domain.com/en.gb/

So I have no primary domain, but for the administrator of the website is the strange that they have a 404 on the secondary website layer, but the page is not in use, as it will always show the 404-page for the primary layer.

A guestimate could be better than none :-)
