Item Type with no fields

Hi,

More and more we create items, and need to create a Page Item type (Newslist, for example) and a Paragraph Item Type (News) and restrict the paragraph to that page to have a correct structure.

So far so good. But sometimes we don't need fields for the Page Item type. We just need the standard page properties but require that Page Item type to be constrain the Paragraphs to that Page.

Currently we need to create a dummy field and the page content starts with that dummy field, and we later need to click "Paragraphs" to actually edit content.

If we could save a (page) item type with no fields, and the paragraphs list would be the default layout.

Does this make any sense for your guys?

The way to do this is not to create an item type with no fields, but to add a Name field, say, to your item type and then use this field in the "Use field for title" settings in your item type (see http://manual.dynamicweb-cms.com/Default.aspx?ID=7553#31565). Then you have an item type that controls the name in the page tree, which is what you want.

Being able to define on an item type whether the default layout/view should be the item fields or the paragraph list is something that we've heard before, and currently our plan is to implement this is Dynamicweb 8.5.1.
