Item Publisher - sort value for paragraph item types

Hi,

Would be nice if the sort value could also work for paragraphs.

I now that it will be a problem when loading all items from a website or multiple pages, because DW might have multiple #1 as sort value, but falling back to the name is an option.

Moreover, when reading items from the current page and/or a specific page, the standard paragraph sort would work beautifully.

Any thoughts on this?

We use this solution quite a lot, and currently we need to create a sort value field and tell the clients that the "paragraph" order in the Backend needs to be "duplicated" in a field.

This is a bug, but it has been fixed in Dynamicweb 8.5 (it was reported in this post: http://developer.dynamicweb.com/forum/cms-standard-features/cms-standard-features/item-sorting.aspx).

Hi Mikkel,

We're experiencing troubles sorting items based on their sorting value - Solution runs 8.4.1.12. Works OK on update, created date sorting, however the Sorting Value, as we understand it that's the order they are locatedi n the backend -> does't not work. Are we doing anything completely wrong or?.

I havent written any razor code as foreach(var item in list).OrderBy(....) .. though..

It seems like we have a bug with sorting item based pages in the Item publisher (TFS #15694): Apparently newly created pages always come first in the list.

A temporary fix is to use "Sort pages" [http://manual.dynamicweb-cms.com/Dynamicweb-On-line-Manual/Navigation/Sort-pages.aspx] and just clicking "Save and close" without actually sorting the pages.
