Search index update fails 1 out the 2 times

Hello,

In a shop we import new products every night. To update the catalog and the filters we re-index every night. We scheduled it twice a night because it fails often. How can we improve this?

We use core Version: 8.4.0.19 (Thu, 08 May 2014 14:56)

Hi Jurgen

From the exception it seems like some files are locked. You could try setting up an additional website on the server as a copy of the published that only has the job of running the indexing and setup a recycle before it runs the re-indexing

Hi Jurgen,

 

Do you have a lot of products in the index? And do you run index process in the backup folder?

In the latest versions of 8.4.1 you can set the index to switch between "index" and "backup" folder, which have helped us big time!
