Is it true that rows in items table are not deleted?

Hi,

I have come across a scenarie where I am extracting items from itemtable.

It seems that rows (items) in the itemtype_itemTypeName are not deleted if you delete the page or paragraph to which they are related?

Is that true? Why?

Hi Sten,

You are right, there is something weird about this...

  • When you delete pages they are usually moved to the trashbin and the attached items will be deleted when you empty the trashbin.
  • When you delete paragraphs they are also moved to the trashbin, but the attached items will NOT be deleted when you empty the trashbin.
  • You can also have other kinds of items, e.g. items in an itemlist field, which are also never deleted.

Anyway, if you are going to present any of these items in front end, then I suggest that you...

This can also help to ensure that you don't display items that are inactive / unpublished or items which the user doesn't have permission to access.
