Hi Guys,
What limitations of Search Weighted I might expect if I try to use Items as Pages in a 8.2.3 solution?
Is it working? Is it working partially? It does not work at all?
What fields I can use?
Thanks,
Adrian

Can remember exactly, but it should be working on all fields. There is an issue with the resume of the search results that in some versions contains the ID of the item - not pretty. That has just been solved in 8.4.*
Any reasons why you cannot upgrade?

It seems there are a lot of issues related with upgrade. This is a huge multi-site solution and it has a lot of particularities.
Andy from Kom Design is managing it. And we have to implement a new website for them.
I have created an item type for pages. It has Title and description.
Apparently, search weighted does not search in any of these fields.
Is there any other option?
Hi Adrian
Upgrading is the only path. And it is possible as 8.4 is compatible with 8.2 - testin needed of course.
Nicolai
Unfortunately this is not my decision.
And I remember that one of the issues when upgrading from 8.2 was the way template paths were rendered.
And in this case templates are a big issue.
Can't I just play with the search index? And make it search through ItemTypes? Or maybe build another one just for this site?
Thanks,
Adrian
Hi Adrian
The template issue was a bug that is fixed. So that should not be an issue.
Search weighted is not running on the index but on the database.
What I can give you is the source code for the updated search module - then you can give it a new systemname and install it on this solution....
That is the best I can do.
BR Nicolai
I believe this can help.
To be honest, I don't have any other option right now :)
So yes. I would gladly try that.
THanks,
Adrian
Hi Adrian
Not optimal, but have sent you the code.
BR Nicolai
Thank you. I'll let you know how it goes
