Hi,

 

What if we could assign Items to Users?

 

There are sites where we need to create "items" per users. We can create them as paragraphs or pages and have a fields where we set the user ID, however, we can never see (in the backoffice) what items that user has.

 

For example, we want to create a site, where a user can create recipes. We can't see in the backoffice what recipes that user has.

 

If we had a button, similar to Addresses, Orders, Email Marketing Statistics, where we could see by Item type what items where assigned/linked to it, was great.

Hi Nuno, The idea is super and we have talked alot about it internally - the downside is performance. We need to ensure good performance even with +500.000 users and that might be difficult with items in the structure as well. 

I know we will be looking into this again in the future - but for know it won't work.

Hi Asger,

 

Great to know it's on the drawing board. I will just leave some ideas on the table reagarding performance:

  • Select which items should be viewable through User Management
  • Do not pre-load items in User Management, just upon selection  -  Or make this an option when setting up an item. Depending on the project, might be relevant, or not
  • Load an item list, not item detail. Fewer and more managable controls mean faster interface

 

Hope you guys can find a way to make this happen in the near future laugh
