Translation of the ProductCategories

Hi,

 

With translation, working with product categories is a problem.

 

When I try to create the product in a different language, the values are lost! There is no translation settings to state that a fields should be translated or not. Even if the values where always different, saving into a new languages makes the product "loose" all of those properties. If the product has 8 fields x 3 languages x 100 products, that's a lot of issues to re-do (most of our fields are listboxes).

 

How can we facilitate/optimize this? SQL only?

Hi guys,

 

Any way we can develop this? Maybe a trigger on record insert, getting the values from LANG1?

Hi,

 

We really needed this solved. A client with 100 products, with 5 product category fields, has to insert 500 values when creating a new language :( At least upon creation, this should be possible.

 

Any thoughts?
