Spanish Letters and Accents in the Title/Description/Keyword(s) fields

If I type in the Title/Description/Keyword(s) fields  Spanish accented letters and upside-down punctuation (á, é, í, ó, ú, ü, ñ, ¿, ¡), they are not displayed by browser, in the html code. Why?

e.g. http://www.escolapios.net/es-ES/Inicio.aspx

Thank you for your help.

When I check they are displayed. See attached screendump.

In the source code all texts in meta keyword, description and title tags are HTML encoded so you would see something like "Quiénes Somos". é is the html encoding of the é letter.

Hope this clarifies.

Hi Nicolai,

thank you for your replay, but please see also in the html code source:

<meta name="Keywords" content="San Jos&#233; de Calasanz, Escolapios, Escuelas P&#237;as, Escuelas Cat&#243;licas" /> Is it ok for Google too? Giuseppina

YES, that is exactly what Google needs. Google understands these HTML encoded characters and they are also required in some HTML versions.
