Include "Extended page properties item fields" in navigation xml

We now have the option to extend our page properties with items - which is VERY AWESOME... But it would be really nice to be able to define which of these item fields should be included in the navigation xml (in the Management Center when creating/editing the item type)

Now that would be FREAKING AWESOME!!

Coming up in 8.4 - have it on my build already... :-).

And YES - it is nice. You also get website properties from item in your navigation XML, just in case.

Hi Nicolai,

I am really looking forward to see all 8.4 has to offer, and see when it will become a "Last Stable Version" :)

Nuno,

I'm also very much looking forward to this!

Just start using the latest release all the time, the more we are that use the latest release the faster they make it stable ;-D

I always start a new project with the latest release, if anything goes bananas I send a/multiple bug report(s) and downgrade to the nearest working release :-) That way I get to use/test most of the new features, and whip up a bug report or two :-)

Hi Jacob,

Unfortunatly, due to our server structure, we cannot do that. I test latest releases, but due to a lot of custom developments and some big companies relying on server stability, that's simply out of the question :(

We have suffered (a lot) from that in the past.

Hi Guys,

Is this functionality implemented?

I am using 8.4.1.8 and I don;t seem to find anything related to this usage.

Thanks,

Thanks a lot Jacob.

I have noticed that on another solution but now I am facing a weird situation with the current solution that I am working on.

Although I have defined some page properties, and they are filled with values, they are not rendered in the XML. If I am using the Navigation XML section in the MAnagement Center/Developer/Navigation XML, the properties are shown. But in the saved XML they are not.

I was thinking maybe I have to check the properties somewhere in order to make them visible.

I am using 8.4.1.8.

Any help would be very appreciated as I have spent a few hours already trying to get to the bottom of this.

Thanks,

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

This is quite weird!

I've previously had some things not being included - back then I downgraded to the previous version, then upgrading back to the current version. This "restarts" the solution and sometimes makes the data appear... But you should create a case on this, it might be a bug in 8.4.1.8...  (the solution I showed it on is 8.4.0.9 - will se if I can test on a 8.4.1.8)

I'm not one of the hard core techies from Dynamicweb, so my magic is unfortunately limited :-)

Hope you find a solution.
