Flipbook - Gallery module

I am trying to make a flip book using the gallery module with 147 pages, does anyone have any documentation on these scripts as we need to make a few changes and to alter the system a bit.

Issue 1: limit 100 pages

Issue 2: change style sliding document instead of flipping pages

Issue 3: stop print function

Issue 4: Why is it discontinued from supplier

If any one has any ideas please let me know!

The project is that the customer need to publish 147 page pdf where you can not print or download the file!

The flip book is an internal component that we have implemented as an example in the template. You can use many different components for this. This one is free and has some limitations.

You cannot stop the print function. The browser supports printing, and if you show something in the browser, it can be printed. And why stop that by the way?

No matter what you do a PDF shown on the internet can be downloaded and printet... Unless you put it into a protected PDF. Which by the way, can be unlocked pretty easy.

Regarding the flip book templates, I have another question - as we know, the flipbook templates is based on flash. Are DW planning to offer templates without flash for this, so that it can be working on ipad too?

Hi Nicolai,

Thanks for the answers,

Can you recommend a system that can also make html 5 for ipad etc, as Lise mentioned?

The issue we have are due to regulation set by the EU regulations on Pharmaceutical publishing.

We are not allowed to print or download the file, I have found solution for different CMS systems like Joomla ie. edocs but no standalone solution to build into Dynamicweb.
A lot of companies want the user to come back to the website instead of print or emailing it on. Although one can make a screen grab from the any file in the browser by 147 pages is a lot of work and is there allowed as you can not stop this!

Printing: we are going to stop this by hiding the div in print function (just a trick but at least this)

Hi Andrew

Turn.js is a great HTML 5 Tool and pretty easy to put into Dynamicweb.

edocs is a just a wrapper around Google Docs Viewer https://docs.google.com/viewer and you can also use that in Dynamicweb. But it is not a turn tool...

You can use Adobe Acrobat to create an ebook with DRM where you can prevent printing and redistributing of the PDF files. But - there are 1000s of tools which of course can bypass that anyways.

If the user wants to print it, he will. You can of course make it harder, but not prevent it.
