XML Item persist and delete data

Hello.

We have a problem with Items in DW 8.3. The problem is kind of related to our development process and setup. When one of our guys alter the structure of an item (add or remove fields) then the XML file changes and DW makes these changes in the DB. But we have several solutions running and if one of the other guys don't pull this change in the XML from Git his website will persist the outdated XML into the database and then delete the data. 

Is there a way to force DW not to do this?

So you are all running on the same database instance, but different copies of the files?

 

You cannot avoid this with the current DW.

 

How should this work? What could be the rule not to apply a schema to the database?

Hi Nicolai.

Well that is a good question. Maybe some kind of alert, so the user will understand that the data in the DB will be deleted. I could imagine that this would be a good idea even in live solutions if a user would do this for some reason not knowing what he was doing and thus deleting data in the database that would be impossible to recreate, like user generated content etc.
