Items attached to areas should be global

When you attach a set of Items to an area i would like them to be global. It is essential that i can access them in all templates, including module templates. Otherwise i cannot use them to store information about the area, fx the page id of my terms and conditions page which i need to access in a number of different templates. Items could potentially make this info available to me in all of my templates so that i would not need to hardcode it.

At the Sounding boards the the developer conference, one of the issues was how to get PageIDs out of the translate file and into something area specific.

 

Items on areas seemed to be the fix for this, but if the Item.Area.xxxx tags are not global, they have limit use, since they cannot replace the translate tags that they are suppose to.

They are global with the latest release of 8.2.3
