Sub-categories for news

Hello,

is it possible to create sub-categories for news?

I attached a screenshot illustrating the functionality I'm looking for. We have a parent category "DOF ASA News", and need a child category for "Financial News". In the current solution we've just faked it by adding a dash in front of the child category to illustrate to the client. But there is no functionality tied to it. Anyone have experience implementing something like this in Dynamicweb?

It is not possible in the current solution.

But if you have a 8.2 you have items, and you can create an item type called "News" with whatever fields you need. Then you can create a category structure in the page tree that holds your news categories:

News

- DOF ASA News

- Financial news

- Other news category

Then you place the news items under those pages and use the item publisher to publish the news in a newslist.
