Cart is not unique based on shop

Hey

We have a problem on a solution where we have multiple websites and would like to have the ability to use multiple shops for these websites.

The current issue seems to be that the cart is shared across websites right now. So if I add a product from one shop on website A, and go to website B (which has a different product catalogue and cart) then add another product to the cart, both products appear in the same cart. The cart is shared across websites (entire solution) as far as I can see.

Is there a way of separating carts based on website? What’s the point of having multiple shops if you can't segment the cart based on shop?

Is there any solution for this?

It can be a bit tricky - as long as you are using the same hostname. If you are using different host or domain names it should work, i.e.:

shop1.mydomain.com and shop2.mydomain.com or shop1.com and shop2.com

Okay, that sounds like a manageable solution. Earlier I got a different answer for your Supporters. I was told that the cart was shared across different domains as well.

So perhaps this should be thoroughly tested and the results communicated internally at DW. And Externally here in this thread ;-) Thanks

The solution with separate domains work, but I would also like the option to have separate carts on the same solution.

We often need to have separate shops on the same domain without mixing orderlines, which is impossible without custom extensions.
