"custom fields" on paragraphs

 Hi DW's

just one question:

is it any way possible to assign a custom field to a paragraph. ie if I wanted an input field where the client could put some information when he edit the paragraph, and the new field would appear. and then use the field on the paragraph template with a custom template tag.
(like in Ecom)

//Thanks

This has been a request of mine for a long time :-)

I actually heard Nikolaj talking about this at the event and he said it would be implemented as a service release "within months".

Looking very much fareward to this feature!

This is now possible to do with the new item-based structure in Dynamicweb 8.2. Documentation is still missing, but there is a preview video available. However, since that video was published a lot of changes and new features has been added.

Basically, you just define a new item type in Management Center > System > Item types, where you add the different fields that you need. Then when you create a new website, page or paragraph, you can choose to base it on your item type and you are then able to specify values for all your item fields, which will be available in the template.

Currently, you cannot use both item fields and module on a paragraph , but I think Dynamicweb is working on a solution for that.
