More "out of the box" ecom sorting capabilities

Hi,
I've been complaining on and off for years now, about the lack of more extensive "out of the box" ecom sorting capabilities ... but nothing has seemed to change. I've now got a v.8 solution where I have a list of "products" in this case it is educations. Each with a Name, Campus and FieldofInterrest. I want to be able to sort on each of the 3 fields available on my list (by clicking the row header), but how the heck can I obtain this functionality without having to know .net?

I Don't think JavaScript is the way forward... but might be my only option here?

Well... XSLT is the way forward. After speaking with Kenneth Radoor, an independent developer, I was pointed in the correct direction. Now I've made an XSLT-stylesheet for my product list, which checks if the Querystring contains one of the three row headers and either asc or desc, on which it then sorts the result :-)
