Canonical not shown correct in html

While busy validating an website I found out that in the source code the base-href and the canonical url aren't rendered correctly. Has someone else ran into this problem? As far as I know the usage of the canonical can be changed by enabling/disabling this option in the backend. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

You can take a look at the attached screenshot. Here you'll see that the html-tag for rendering these two elements aren't closed correctly making the HTML invalid. I'm having my doubts wether search-engines will handle this correctly or not..Also shouldn't the canonical URL include the full domain?

Hi Rob,

CMS creates unclosed tags, i guess we have to fix it.
The canonical URL depends from your settings. But it will always create non-full links.

 Hi Sergey,

Thanks for your response.
Okay I understand about the canonical URL. Is the unclosed tags problem already classified as a bug?
