We struggle a lot in learning and afterwards correct our customers in the way they name their pages.
The worst problem we have seen is when pages are named with a slash (/) then all relative links go deeper and deeper in the navigation structure and it's an infinte loop.
But know you are at changing the URLs for pages we also have problems with users using URLs with øæå in other tools, Google Adwords, Social Media Apps etc. They validate the url and says it's invalid.
Other CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal etc. have a translation table of those chars where æ=ae, ø=oe, å=aa.
And there are others problematik characters so why not stick to the ASCII tables char numbers 48-57, 65-90, 97-122 and 150 which only includes [0-9a-zA-Z] and dash (-).
Another problem in terms of meeting SEO URLs is that then the Customized URLs is set to the pattern of (/Pagename-ID.aspx) you can actually fetch the page with any name if just the ID is the same - please validate the pagename also, so that the page content only gets rendered by the exact URL everytime. It's a potential catastrophy in Dublicate Content issues.
