I've been around Dynamicweb for some time now, and there's a lot of things that do not make sense now and/or have been deprecated.
When introducing people to Dynamicweb, I have to say what's important, what isn't and make sure I don't skip over an important option.
My suggestion is to have a checkbox to hide un-used options in the CMS, so new users don't have to deal with them.
