At a customer we have a situation where the original of a global element does not show as global element.
The references to this pragraph do show up as global elements.
so the problem as that, looking at the original of the global element, there is no way to tell that it is a global element. In another situation, the original indicated that it is a global element.
Maybe it's just a minor detail somewhere in the database I can fix. So I would appreciate your suggestions.
Sincerely

I think this is by design?
But i agree it would good if the user can see that he is going to edit a global element if it is the original paragraph. This is not clear currently.
Just like the other global paragraphs use the same icon or maybe a new icon indicating it the original global paragraph.
Can dw comment on this? Should we make feature request or can we work around it?
Kind regards,
Remi

When editing a global paragraph, a warning is shown above the header in a yellow bar stating that this paragraph is global and used in XX places. And that is no matter if it is the original or the global that you are editing - it is the same.
If the global is used in a template using global.content.paragraph you will not be able to see the information in the backend.

I just retested in dw 7.2 but the original paragraph does not show the warning.
I understand that it should?
The other global paragraph instances based on the original are showing the icon and warning.
Kind regards,
Remi

It does not show in the list - that the original is used as a global.
But when you edit it, a warning appears.

Bump.
I am interested if you can see the warning on the original or not?

Seems like you cannot see it... Once you could, but it has changed for some reason.
Will bug it and make a fix.

Is it possible to improve the global element as follows.
- Add a warning when deleting an orignal global element. Like: Are you sure you want to delete this paragraph and the related global elements?
- Show in the paragraph list an icon that it is an original global element.
Why i ask this is because we have had some customers deleting an original global element and did not expect and see this was an original global element. When this happens all related global elements are gone too.
There is no problem when removing a related global element as the others keep existing.
Kind regards,
Remi
