Department or User

Reply

 Hello.

Currently I’m importing user data from an old DW into a new one. This spawned a question.

What is the difference between a usertype 5 (user) and usertype 11 (department). I know the meaning of a "user" and a "department" but i want to know the difference system wise. What can departments do that users can’t and vice versa.

And does these user types have anything to do with ecommerce.

Thanks

Mikkel

 Well i found out another thing about the usertypes.

Newsletterv3 depends on usertype 15, so you cannot use usertype 5 with Newsletterv3. IF you do the Active/Inactive button for a subscriber wont work and you cannot send emails.

Sorry, my bad :/

Yes, in NewsletterV3 the usertype is 15.

In the new user management you have these types of users:

Administrator = 3
Default = 5
Editor = 4
ExtranetUser = 15
SystemAdministrator = 1

Any other usertype is considered a group (2 or 11 or something else).

So if you keep using 15 for users and 11 for groups then all modules should work as intended.
