RemoteHttp module

Reply
There is a great standard module called RemoteHttp (alias Content integrator), used for requesting remote xml content, but it is marked as BETA. Why?

Can we use that module?
Are there any known issues?

I know the module is fairly simple and we could easily make our own, but we would prefer using a standard module.
Another alternative solution is to request the XML in an XSLT function, but that stinks.

You can use it, the beta label has been taken off in a service release at some point.

Only known "issue" is that it does not cache the feed - giving a slight performance hit...

And its free!

As far as I can see the module was last updated in 2007 (update # 234) where it was marked as BETA.

Too bad the module is missing a caching feature. It would have been great if it had settings for caching just like the RSS module.

Yes it is... Just added caching as you know it from RRS module.

Part of 7.2 - and no longer beta.
