Dynamicweb 7 performance problems

Reply
Hi,

Did anyone felt performance problems after installing DW7? I have installed it in one of our servers and after a while I had to continually make an IISReset to avoid clear the Application Pool memory.

User's could not access the websites on that server receiving the message Server too busy.

Can anyone share a similar experience or solution?

Thanks

Hi Recardo

We are running this release on thousands of Dynamicweb installations at Hostnordic - we have not seen any performance issues with this release.

There are no significant changes made to the frontend of Dynamicweb so it should not be different. eCommerce even had a significant performance boost.

You can e-mail me examples of a couple of solutions that have this problem - then I'll take a look.

Hi,

Right now I'm running some tests.

A couple of days I also had some performance issues on one other server and the problems stoped as soon as I removed the DW7 applications from that same server.

From what we have identified so far the application pool used by DW7 consumes lots of memory resources and we need to reset the IIS in order to get the websites running again.

It afects all solutions that are in the same application pool were DW7 is instaled. Does your system administrators recommend running this new version on a dedicated application pool?

I've uninstaled the solutions running DW7 and I'm trying to identify any possible issue on the server.

The other issue may be related to the fact that we're running DW7 and previous versions on the same pool. If in the next 12h the applications are ok I will reinstall DW7 on the server and configur it to use a dedicated application pool, to check tif the system craches again.

RA

DW 7 in the same pool as Dynamicweb .NET is not a problem. Thats not it... Wonder what it could be.

I'll need a link to a website that have the issue... It could be the new NLB feature in DW 7 - it could be a rightsrelated problem. But I would not know untill i have something to investigate.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Hi,

I've been running some tests. I've separated the aplications in several application pools and seems to be working without freezing the server.

I will keep you updated on this matter.

Hi,

We have detected the problem. We have one client that has an access database with more than 1 Gb. We're going to upgrade it to SQL. It should solve the problem.

Best Regards,

Ricardo
