I have tried almost anything and it seems that I can't catch the menuitems that are in a Menu of type DropDown.

XML menu types are the way it seems.

 

Is there any standard Javascript/xslt templates for a dropdown menu based on a XML menu?

I'm sure that google can provide a ton of premade xslt dropdown menu's where you just need to alter the xslt statements to match dynamicweb's xml output
