Multiple pages named the same just on different area's

Reply

I have multiple languages/area's on my solution, and 2 of the different site's both have a page called 'contact' for some reason one of them gets named contact-1 even though they are on different domains & on a different language/area.

Isent it possible to get it to have the same name? If possible how? If not is it something u might want to implant?

Best Regards

Jais Edelmann

Not at the moment. You can access multiple areas using the same domain, and in that case Dynamicweb wouldn't know which page to display, if you only supplied the name. Did you include the area name in the address in the SEO friendly URL setup?

www.domain2.com/contact-1

Hi Jais

I'm the one responsible for the feature, and I am aware of this behaviour. URL Rewriting is handled before DW knows anything about the page bing showed (Domain, Area and PageID),  this is why DW handles URLS to be totally unique across domains.

A solution have been thought of though - will hopefully be out sometimes after the summer as an extra checkbox in the URL section. If you have the same page name in the same level on the same language, it will still be named -1 etc.
