Could you please repeat the error since it is lost in this thread. And please tell us what version of SQL-Server you are trying to restore the .bak file to.

So - if you need a SQL-Server 2000 database please follow the instructions in appendix E in the installation guide.

Yes it would be possible. We have chosen not to have it since SQL-Server 2000 is very old and rarely used, and we dont have any SQL-Server 2000 installations left to run it on. With the release of SQL-Server 2008 we will have versions for 2005 and 2008.
