Problems with SQL database restore

Reply

It means that you're attempting to restore a 2005 backup file on a 2000 server engine. If you need to install the database on a 2000 engine, please refer to Appendix E in the Dynamicweb installation guide found here:

Well... I just downloaded the "fresh" DB file from the download section and still get this error :-( The file is created on 24-8-2007 10:38 and the size is 16.481 KB - Do anyone have an idea?

Could you please repeat the error since it is lost in this thread. And please tell us what version of SQL-Server you are trying to restore the .bak file to.

The error message is as follows:

"The backed-up database has on-disc structure 611. The server supports version 539 and cannot restore or upgrade this database..."

I'm trying to restore the .bak fil from DW/Downloads onto a Windows 2003 std with Sql Server 2000.

And since the Backup file is a SQL-Server 2005 backup file that is not possible, still.

So - if you need a SQL-Server 2000 database please follow the instructions in appendix E in the installation guide.

Isn't it possible to have to different .bak versions? one for 2000 and one for 2005?

Yes it would be possible. We have chosen not to have it since SQL-Server 2000 is very old and rarely used, and we dont have any SQL-Server 2000 installations left to run it on. With the release of SQL-Server 2008 we will have versions for 2005 and 2008.
