Caching in DW9?

Hi Dynamicweb,

After upgrading to DW9 I can see a lot of extra calls to the database on each page load. Most of the calls seems to be related to Pages e.g.:

  • GetFirstPageForArea
  • GetFirstModulePageForArea (for both search and cart)
  • GetPageForItem (and yes I have activated caching for the item :-))

Can I do anything to activate/optimize caching?

At the same time is it possible to avoid database calls for product comments and other comments as well if it is not used on the site?

Best regards, Anders

Hi Anders,

Areas, Pages, Paragraphs and Items have recieved a major overhaul in 9.3, which will be released shortly. You should see fairly good performance improvements and a significantly reduced number of db-calls once you upgrade to this version.

These changes will not be merged to 9.2, however. ETA for 9.3 is tuesday next week.

What is still missing in 9.3: Rewrite of Products and everything related to ecommerce. This is one of our focuses during 9.4 development.

Hi Martin,

That sounds really great as we see poor performance on our DW9 solutions compared to DW8.
