Hi DW,

I apologize in advance that this post might be a little vague.

But i have experienced on some of our newer swift solutions that when you are logged in and go to the checkout delivery info and user info (Email and Phonenumber) disappears sometimes, and it doesn't update when you want to edit your information from the checkout. I find it very hard to explain what is going on, it just seems super unstable. And it causes issue where if the delivery adress is gone on your attempt to check out it wont let you.

I have tried to take a video from a Standard Swift Solution on 1.22  http://twodayco3.swift.dwdemo.dynamicweb-cms.com/

Video Link: https://vimeo.com/842136825?share=copy

I have yet to actually figure out what is happening, and i hope that you might be able to get an idea of what is happening from my video.

Kind Regards
Martin

Hi Martin,

I have seen odd behavior with Cart v2 templates. This seems like a brand new solution. What if you try to use the Swift's Cart v1? There is a hidden page in the backend next to the Cart page that you can open from the backend (once you've added the product to the cart) and see if that version behaves better.

Best Regards,

Nuno Aguiar

Hi,

Yes, it's correct that there is something "wonky" with the cart. We have some known issues with especially cartv2 that is default in the latest releases.
After the summer holidays we'll have focus on fixing the cart issues.

The specific issue that you describe is registered in bug 14453.

Hi Merethe,

That sounds good, thank you for that :)

I don't know if this is part of the bug, but the phone number or email address does not update when you "edit" from the button in the checkout before moving on to the delivery method step. It is not a huge issue, but it might discourage some customers from moving on through the checkout if they see their information is not updating. This is also shown in the video.

Another thing is that the "Send to" address/information does not carry over into the payment step in the checkout, I am not sure if this is intended and it is stored somewhere else, i have just experienced that it gives issues if validation has been set up, when trying to pay it cannot find the delivery address.

Hi,

I forgot to write the other bug no regarding edit. It's here: 14453.

We have some older bugs that might cause some of this, but now I have created a bug with the specific scenario regarding the Send to issue: 14456.

Merethe

Hi DW,

I'm just going to check in on this, as I can see that Bug 14453 Cartv1+v2: Phone number disappears from cart info rows has been closed.

I have tested a 1.24 swift on a 9.16.3 DW, and as far as I can see I cannot make any information disappear, so that is great.

I was about to write that I cannot edit my phone number and email address and have it updated in the checkout.

But as I was clicking around I could see that I actually can do that.

BUT.

Apparently, my email and phone number are based on the address that I have chosen,

Which is... I think a little confusing because if i want to "Edit" my Contact information in the checkout

I will be directed to the "My Account Information" page, which contains the billing address, and when I edit my contact information and return to checkout, it defaults to choose my home address in this case as the delivery address which still contains the old email and phone number. And the email address and phone number then do not appear to be updated, until I then swap to use the "Same as the billing address" field.

Is this working as intended? Because it took me a while to figure out that it was changing my information, hence I almost finished a post about it not updating before it saw that it actually did.
