OAuth 2.0 for Business Central on-premise

Hi,

For the authentication with a Business Central On Premise, can we also use the 'OAuth 2.0 for Business Central Cloud'  as authenication type?

The access token is received but when we try to make a request with the test tool we get a 401 Unauthorized.

Has this to do with the Type? If so, what is the recommend alternative?

Thanks

Hi Jesse,
no, it will not work. You can still use the old well-known Web Service Access User key (Basic) authentication, it is not disabled for the OnPremise servers.
But we have a feature for the implementation of Azure AD/Service-to-Service authentication type for the OnPremise ERP servers in our todo list so it will be implemented soon.
