Version Targeting in IE8

When IE8 goes out of beta it will act more or less according to the web standards, so they say.

But it's possible to make it act like IE7 by using version targeting.

So the question is, if Dynamicweb should include the meta tag to make IE8 act like IE7 on all existing solutions, to prevent a lot of fuckup's on old websites

Of course you will be able to disable the output from the control panel.

Would it make any sense to make a Control Panel setting for this, if you could enter the tag in your master template?

There will be definately be a control panel setting, we're talking Dynamicweb.

But the question is wheter or not it should be enabled by default.

Just to make it clear.

We are talking about an option to control wheter IE8 should act like IE7 on the actual website, not the CMS administration.

And if it should act like IE7 by default.
