Hi,
Whats best practice regarding multilangual sites when using the layout system?
As is, its a step back if you have to make one layout file pr lang - furthermore if youre using master layout files, you end up with a whole lot of layout files.
I cannot believe if this is the idea, so what am I missing?

You can use the translate tag as always:
http://templates.dynamicweb.dk/TemplateTags/Dynamicweb-template-tags/General-tags/Translate([Key],-[Default]).aspx
Try have a look at "(en-US) Working with template terminologies.pdf" on http://engage.dynamicweb-cms.com/Working-with-183.aspx
Let me hear if this is useful.

Hmmm I simply cant find out how.
I have no problem translate the module templates, but the layout files themselves from the "design" dir - I simply cant find the "translate popup window" in the backend.
I may have overlooked a chapter in one of the docs?

Bump... Am I the only one with this problem?
Really - I know how the translation works on modules, but doing it in the paragraph/Page, is another thing...where is the "translation" icon hidden for those?
The only thing comping close are on websites where you can find the translation for the master file under HTML - but thats not what Im looking for.

I have the exact same problem. I can't find a smart way to do this, since translations are only for module templates - so I end up having Masters for each language and a lot of pagetemplates... I posted this in #42 @ http://engage.dynamicweb-cms.com/Forum-5.aspx?action=ShowThread&ThreadID=2014

Not sure I understood properly. I looked into this recently and found when you edit any html file in the templates folder you can add translation tags, I had to add manually a Translations.xml file in the folder sometime first. Otherwise in the editor at the top was always a translation icon.

Hi,
That does the trick!
Hovever its a bit of a way, and definately nothing for a regular user, so lets hope this will be a bit smoother in a future release.
