Smartphone optimized website

Hi


1. I have tried with a javascript which excludes people who have switched of java ...
2. I have tried to use the “PDA / Smartphone module” which automatically redirects smartphone users to the optimized site.

Is there a way where I can let smartphone people themselves choose which site they want to see without using java?

My suggestion would be using a technique like this:
http://www.hand-interactive.com/resources/detect-mobile-javascript.htm

With this you can detect mobile clients, and prompt them if they want the mobile content or the normal webiste.

Maybe have a host called http://mobile.domain.com to handle the mobile content - a lot of websites uses that analogy.
