News v2 contra old news module

In the old news-module there were 3 template categories: List, List element and Show element. The template/file that was set in the Show element-dropdown on an article-setup screen (under the module tab) decided how to display a full news element.

 

I do not have access to the old news-module anymore, and now I struggle with News v2 (using LoopStart and NewsList). How do I display a full news element on a new page / article?

 

I presume (and hope) theres a simple solution for this but I cant figure out how and where to do this. I noticed the "display as"-field in the News v2 module setup, but Im confused about how this functionality works. If I set an article in the "display as"-field, I get forwarded to this page as I click the 'read more'-link, but I do not manage to include the chosen news element.

 

Any help would be very much appreciated.

What happens when you click a news element on the list ?

Doesn't it show the complete news element then ?

 Hi Sebastian,

the complete news element appear, but it appear on the same page and in the same place as the news-preview. I want to display this news element on a new page, using a particular paragraph for the page/article-layout.

Did you check the "Include paragraph content" checkbox?

I havent checked that one. Must I? Right now I have set a blank template / got no paragraph content under the content tab for the article. The newslist is displayed fine (layout is set in the List file), but my problem is the custom layout for a particular news element (after you click 'read more').

Thanks a lot for your quick replies and for the link (bookmarked). I think I have figured it out:

I checked the 'include paragraph content'-box in the news-module setup for the article, set the 'display as' to point to a new page and then I added the desired custom "full news element layout" in the Item-template for the news elements (under Modules -> News v2 -> ... ).
