implement own templates

Reply

Im waiting to acces our dynamicweb cms, but in the meanwhile Im trying to get the overall view og how DynamicWeb works.

I have read the manuals regarding templates, but there is something I dont understand.

I am used to programme html and am an expert user of MS Frontpage, dreamweaver and flash. And I have designed the way we want our website to look like. Im just wondering how to implement it.

Is the main template in DW build up in frames or is it a table?

I have desigen a solution where I have a topbar with logo and flash animation, then a horizional menu und below that I want the content area. The content area I want to have splitted up in two areas. One with page content and one with a list of news and customers (this area will be shown on all pages).

How am I going to create that template ? Is it a master template I need to create or what is it. Can anybody help me in this matter?

Hi

The standardtemplates in dynamicweb is based on nested tables.

But you can also use div based templates.

For implementation try looking at these videoguides:

http://developer.dynamicweb.dk/default.aspx?id=16918&action=ShowArticle&ArticleID=4

Through these guides you should get a description/explanation of the different template types.
