Extending website settings with custom fields using items

Hi,

I remember hearing that you can extend the list of settings available for a website using itemtypes.

I am on a 8.2.1.8 and cannot find a way of doing that cool feature.

Anyone who can guide me into getting that feature?

Am am perhaps on a too old solution?

Thanks!

Hi Sten

You can use item types for websites so that they are added as extra fields in the website settings.

Read more here: http://manual.dynamicweb-cms.com/Dynamicweb-On-line-Manual/Items/Items-for-websites.aspx

Unfortunately we had bug 11927: Website items are hidden when page/website is restricted, so that they were hidden if you were logged in by a user. This bug is fixed in 8.2.2.4 that was released yesterday.

In the paragraph and page templates you have the Item.Area.[FieldSystemName] tags and the Item.Area.Fields loop. Read more in the template manual, e.g.: http://templates.dynamicweb-cms.com/TemplateTags/Dynamicweb-template-tags/Page-tags/Page/Loops/Item-Fields.aspx

I hope that this is what you were looking for.

Kind regards,

Merethe
