Ecom Search

regarding ecom search - how is it about this...

When perfoming a straight standard ecom seach with the query 'eComSearch=' what productfields are searched within?

It seems like manufacturer are not, but which are? And is there a newer better way to do a simple productsearch (not instant search).

What Im asking: Is there some kind of doc regarding search in ecom. I maybe blind but cant find what I need.

Looked at the parameter based search, but

1) where do I find the doc for what the fieldnames are called
2) I have 10 productfields, name, prodnumber, manufacturer, teaser and description fields - how do I search through those using this, without having to enter ALL the fields?

By the way in my first post i didnt meant ecomseach but ecomquery - the old fashion way.
