Change content integrator encoding output

We experience an error in reading symbols i.e. degrees (weather) º

Is there a workaround for these exceptions ? Does anyone have an xslt template snippet for this error ?

Can we change the output encoding in an xslt template in the content integrator module ?

The problem is not caused by encoding, but the fact that the Content Integrator module requires a valid document as input when using an XSLT template.

There is no workaround that I know of. To make it more "forgiving" the module could run the document through some tool to clean up the mess - something like html-tidy.

Examples of valid input documents:

XML - RSS, Atom etc.
XHTML - works with named entities, like º, when a correct doctype is specified.
HTML Polyglot - with entities written in decimal or hexadecimal format.
