User import doesn't work?

Hi,

We try to import users in an user map, but we can't choose the activity (if it is excel or csv). When we try to import a csv file it says that the file has no UTF8 encoding. Is this a bug specific for Rapido (the issue cannot be reproduced in a non Rapido solution)? And will this be fixed in the coming release version or is there another work arround?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,

Manon Wekking

Hi Mannon

Can you provide a dump of where you try to import? It should not be Rapido specific...

Hi Nicolai,

It is in the users --> newsletter map --> update users. We only find this problem in our rapido sites.

An example is: http://volandis.azurewebsites.net/Admin/Default

Hope you can help us.

Kind regards,

Hi Nicolai,

Do you have more information about this issue yet?

Hi Manon

It seems like you had the import and export jobs missing - I've uploaded them to the solution, see dump 1.

Also I added a test file with data in a format that I know it can import, see dump 2.

I do get the error that you see, but just disregard it - I think the data will import (at least mine will). Will have a bug created.

Sorry about the inconvenience, Nicolai

Hi Nicolai,

Thank you, now we can import the users.

But I still have one question. We want to import the date that the users where added at the customers system. I created a colum in the import file with the title AccessUserCreatedOn and I also tried AccessUserUpdatedOn but with both columns the import says that the string is not recognised. I tried different ways of putting the dates (Dutch, American) in the columns, but that diddn't work.

Is it possible to import a date like that? How can we do that? Or do we have to create a custom field for that?

Hope to hear from you.

Kind regards,

Hi Manon,
it is not possible to update the fields AccessUserUpdatedOn/AccessUserCreatedOn with custom values, they are system reserved and updated automatically once the user is created/updated. So you need to make a new user custom field of type "DateTime" and try to import to that field(you need to use the custom field "system name" in the import csv file for column name).

I was able to import your sample file to my custom user date time field without errors. However if you will find a problem with importing that you could always try first to export the users with a job called ExportUsersWithSelectedColumns with selection of the columns with date time values(fx AccessUserUpdatedOn/AccessUserCreatedOn) to csv file and then check what date time format your system has so you could follow it in your import csv file.

These files are still missing in the folders on new solutions.  Why?  Do we have to make them ourselves ?

Hi Jens,
it is not clear what files are missing as the attached image is too small:(
Could you make it larger and point which version of Rapido you have used? The latest are 2.1.1, 2.0.2

I see. It's the same files that Nicolai describes in the post posted on 26/02/2018 17:40:15  (importUser.xml & ImportUsersFromExcel.xml)

Hi Jens,
that was fixed in fs# 52684, but wasn't yet released in Rapido. As a workaround you can goto Settings->System Information scroll to the bottom and in the field:
Updates: updates.xml.aspx:write 2003 and click rerun updates button or

download attached files and put them to the "/Files/System/Integration/Jobs/ModuleSpecificJobs/UserManagementModuleJobs/ImportJobs" folder.
