Updating a running wrap based solution to Dynamicweb 9

Hi

Is there any step by step guide for updating current wrap solutions, so that they can be updated to DW9?

No, not yet. But we start conversion of wrap tomorrow and should be done by the end of the week.

Hi Nicolai.

How is this progressing?

We have some costumers who are anxious to upgrade to DW9.

It will be really helpful, if you also can make a step-by-step guide on how to upgrade a standard DW8 wrap to DW9 wrap? I presume it´s some references etc. that have to be updated?

Hi Hans

It is progressing - but not done. We are about to release an updated wrap for 8 and that is the one we are upgrading to 9.

For existing wrap installations, I am not sure you can just take the templates for the new 9 wrap and be on your way. I think it would be better to update the existing solution with DW9, add the Dynamicweb.TemplateCompatibilityPack.dll that will remove most of the Razor template errors and then fix the rest of the exceptions in templates using the Cheatsheat found in the release section.

So upgrading existing solutions to DW9 does not have to wait for the DW9 wrap.
